The quiz groups interests into six types: Realistic (hands-on), Investigative (thinking and research), Artistic (creative), Social (helping people), Enterprising (leading and persuading) and Conventional (organised and detail-focused). This is a widely used way of linking interests to career fields.
Most people are a mix of two or three types, so look at your top two results together. Interests also change as you grow, so treat the result as a starting point for conversation with your parents, teachers and counsellors, not as a final answer.
This is a short, informal quiz and not a diagnosis or a clinical test. Your answers stay in your browser and are not sent to our server.
Career interest test FAQs
What is a career interest test?
A career interest test looks at the kinds of activities you enjoy and groups them into interest types. The types are then linked with career fields where people with similar interests often feel at home.
How does this career interest test work?
You answer 12 short statements. Each statement belongs to one of six interest types: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional. Your two highest scores show your main interest types.
Is this the same as a full psychometric test?
No. This is a quick 12-question starting point that looks only at interests. A full assessment looks at more areas, such as strengths, personality and values, and gives a more detailed report.
How long does the test take?
About two minutes. There are no right or wrong answers, so answer quickly and honestly.
Is the career interest test free?
Yes. It is free, and you do not need to sign up. Your answers stay in your browser and are not stored on our server.
